Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max in for review

Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max in for review Apple announced the iPhone 13 series earlier this month, and we’ve already acquired a Pro Max unit with us to subject to our review procedure. It has the same footprint as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but is slightly thicker due to its bigger battery, has better display and an overhauled camera setup.

Apple calls the iPhone 13 Pro Max screen a “ProMotion display”, which is the marketing name for the variable refresh rate 120Hz panel. Developers have to adapt their apps with updates to enable support for that, so don’t expect to have the extra smoothness everywhere from the start…

The Sharp Aquos zero6 has a 240Hz IGZO OLED display and is one of the lightest 5G phones yet

The Sharp Aquos zero6 has a 240Hz IGZO OLED display and is one of the lightest 5G phones yet Sharp unveiled the Aquos zero6 – a smartphone with a 240Hz screen and that’s not even it’s biggest achievement (the Zero 2 did 240Hz last year and there’s also the R6 with a 1” sensor). Instead, zero6’s claim to fame is that it is the lightest 5G smartphone in the world. Well, that’s what Sharp claims and it comes with a number of asterisks.

Specifically, the Sharp Aquos zero6 is the lightest 5G phone with a screen larger than 6” and a battery that is 4,000mAh or higher. The iPhone 12 mini weighs 135g, though that one has a 5.4” display and a 2,227mAh battery (the 13 mini is lighter too at…

More iOS 15 bugs discovered as iOS 15.1 release imminent

More iOS 15 bugs discovered as iOS 15.1 release imminent The iOS 15 launch hasn’t been exactly smooth sailing as many early bugs sprang their ugly heads. Ones of the most annoying ones is by far the inability to unlock your iPhone using your Apple Watch when wearing a mask. In some cases, you can’t even set up the said unlock method.

In addition, some owners report a non-functional viewfinder in the camera app, unable to wake up their iPhone 13 phones up upon touch, screen unresponsinvess after unlocking (can’t swipe up after a successful face recognition) and Mail app crashes.

Apple already acknowledged some of the bugs, and it even…

Sony announces WH-XB910N headphones and WF-C500 earbuds

Sony announces WH-XB910N headphones and WF-C500 earbuds Sony today announced two new audio products, the WH-XB910N wireless headphones and the WF-C500 truly wireless earbuds. Both will be available for purchase in October.

The WH-XB910N also feature active noise cancellation. While the non 1000X series from Sony usually does not have high quality noise cancellation, it may still be better than nothing.

More rumors claim that Apple will replace the mini with a 6.7″ iPhone 14 Max next year

More rumors claim that Apple will replace the mini with a 6.7″ iPhone 14 Max next year The iPhone 12 mini didn’t sell well. You know what did? The 12 Pro Max. Data from the analysts at CIRP earlier this year showed that Apple’s largest and most expensive iPhone decidedly outsold its smallest (and cheaper) iPhone.

So, when you hear reports that the iPhone 14 series will drop the mini in favor of another large model, it just makes sense. A large model at a lower price should sell well, even if it misses out on the Pro camera hardware.

Speculative iPhone 14 Pro Max render

The tentatively-named iPhone 14 Max should have the same 6.7” display as the Pro Max model, except…
