Samsung’s 14-inch 90Hz OLED panels for laptops enter mass production
Samsung unveiled its 14-inch 90Hz, 2880 x 1800px resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) OLED panels back in March but and now that it kicked off the mass production. The first panels will debut on some of Asus’ latest laptops.
According to Samsung, these panels will look smoother than 120Hz LCD panels due to the natural ability of OLEDs to produce less blurring effect on moving objects. However, there’s more to that than just blurring so that doesn’t make it entirely true.
Anyway, there’s no denying that the OLED panels will deliver deeper blacks, better colors with 100% DCI-P3 coverage…

The iPhone 13 announcement came with the reveal of the new Apple A15 chipset and (as always) Apple said it is the fastest smartphone chip in the world. Interestingly, the chip inside the iPhone 13 vanilla and mini had a 4-core GPU (as usual), while the one inside the iPhone 13 Pro, Pro Max and the new iPad mini had 5-cores (quite possibly the result of different binning intended to stave off chip supply issues).
The current expectation is for Samsung to launch three Galaxy Tab S8 tablets alongside the Galaxy S22 smartphones. In both trios the “Ultra” model will be the best-equipped device, which can be seen in the Tab S8 specs that leaked a few months ago.
Realme makes tablets now, and the Realme Pad is its first attempt. And for a first try it is quite promising. Despite its aggressive pricing it’s looking quite good and the internals aren’t bad either.
