Weekly poll results: the Pixel 5a 5G intrigues, a price cut can turn it into a hit 
Last week’s poll shows that Google may have underestimated the appeal of the Pixel 5a 5G. As far as we know, this model will only be available in the US and Japan. That pales even in comparison with the upcoming Pixel 6 duo that will launch in eight markets.
The poll results are split three ways with nearly equal percentage points. The top option (by a slim margin) is that people are interested in buying a unit, if one is available near them.

After Apple released the original iPhone to great acclaim, the biggest mobile phone maker of the day, Nokia, vowed to beat it at its own game. At first it tried to undercut the price with the ambitious but imperfect Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, its first touch-driven Symbian S60 smartphone.
Fossil announced its Gen 5 smartwatch back in 2019, and the company will unveil the Gen 6 series next week – on August 30.
Infinix unveiled the Hot 10S in April, and the company will follow up with the Hot 11S next month. We don’t have the unveiling date yet, but Infinix says the smartphone will launch in India around mid-September.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 lineup and Galaxy Buds2 TWS earphones unveiled over two weeks ago will be up for pre-orders in India starting August 30, with sales commencing from September 10. The Buds2 are priced at INR11,999 ($165/€140), whereas the Watch4 series starts at INR23,999 ($325/€275). Apple has announced a service program for owners of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Apple’s concluded that a “small percentage” of 6.1-inch iPhone 12 devices have an issue where no sound comes from the earpiece during a phone call. Apple will replace the faulty module free of charge. This is not applicable to the iPhone 12 mini or the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
