New Moto G50 5G codenamed “Saipan” leaks with side-mounted fingerprint scanner
Motorola introduced the Moto G50 5G (codenamed “Ibiza”) in March, and the latest leak reveals the company will announce one more G50 5G, which is codenamed “Saipan.”
Word comes from reliable leakster Evan Blass, who also posted a few renders of the new Moto G50 5G, revealing the smartphone will pack a waterdrop notch display and sport a 48MP triple camera on the rear arranged in an inverted ‘L’ formation.
One image also reveals that the G50 5G “Saipan” will come with the 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port at the bottom, with the fingerprint reader now located on the right-side…
It was last week that Xiaomi unveiled the Mix 4 smartphone, also marking the first flagship smartphone that dropped the “Mi” naming for western markets. The new Mix 4 sets the standard for the all-screen experience with minimal bezels and a “Camera Under Panel” that hides the front facing camera behind a few pixels. Over the weekend, Xiaomi published the official unboxing video for the Mix 4.
The latest device to receive a camera review from DxOMark is the Asus Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders. It’s worth noting that the initial wave of reviews for this device did arrive on Monday morning. However, most reviewers experienced lackluster photo quality so we are assuming that DxOMark performed its tests with unreleased firmware.
Xiaomi is currently busy rolling out the so called MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Version to the first batch of supported devices in China. This rollout commenced on August 13 and should complete on August 27, when it will have reached all of the units out in the wild.
Huawei unveiled the nova 8 and nova 8 Pro back in December of last year, but it looks like it doesn’t want to wait that long for the nova 9 series. According to a new rumor out of China, these phones will be made official at some point in mid-September, having given the nova 8 family just about nine months on the market.
