Honor has separated from Huawei to keep itself afloat, and Counterpoint Researchis now reporting the move was a success as the brand is starting its fightback. The freefall from the early months of the year when Honor was reorganizing its buisiness is seemingly over and the 50 series have brought in considerable spike in sales.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s may not be getting a telephoto camera after all

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G will bring a more powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 778G (we have Geekbench results as proof). This is quite a step up from the Snapdragon 750G in the A52 5G and the 720G in the vanilla A52. Despite hopes of additional changes, however, this may be the only upgrade on the “s” model.

The A52s will have the same 64 + 12 + 5 + 5 MP setup as its two siblings, say sources talking to GalaxyClub. Previously, there was talk that the “s” model will adopt a camera setup similar to the Galaxy A72, which has a 3x telephoto lens.

That is not happening, it seems….

We’ve been hearing about the Mi Pad 5 for a few months now, and today the company finally confirmed that it will unveil the Mi Pad 5 tablet on August 10.

Xiaomi hasn’t revealed much about the Mi Pad 5 so far. However, the image it shared on Weibo confirms the Mi Pad 5 will come with stylus support, but whether or not the stylus will be bundled with the slate remains unclear.

The image also tells us that the Mi Pad 5 will have flat frames, and you can see an antenna line on one of its sides, suggesting metal build and LTE/5G connectivity.

Motorola Edge S Pro is official, it is a renamed Edge 20 Pro

Motorola was gearing up for an announcement of a new phone in China, and it is now official. The Edge S Pro has been launched with a periscope lens and a Snapdragon 870, but just like we expected, it is just a new name of the already known Edge 20 Pro.

The phone has a 6.7” OLED with Full HD+ resolution, 1 billion colors and Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front. The main camera is advertised as “over 100 MP”, but in reality, it is a 108 MP sensor with 9-in-1 pixel-binning technology and an f/1.9 aperture in front of it.

Samsung reportedly launches internal review of its mobile division

Samsung Electronics is undergoing management review of its various business units. These reviews were scheduled to end in July but has been extended. The Elec has learned Samsung’s mobile division’s management will be under review during the month of August.

Reviews are being performed by Samsung’s Business Support Task Force, which began reviews during Q2. The Elec notes that reviews are normally performed every four to five years to evaluate status of its business units and introduce measures to boost efficiency.
