A bunch of iPhone 13 models got certified by the EEC

Apple is expected to announce its iPhone 13 series in September but before it can release them on sale they must gain certifications from regulators around the world. That’s a long tedious process that so it starts well before the announcement and often produces leaks of various magnitude.

One such new certification obtained by the upcoming Apple lineup is by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), which has revealed their model numbers.

Redmi Note 10 series sold over 2 million units in India, the Mi 11X is going strong too

Since the Redmi Note 10 series launched in India in early March Xiaomi has sold 2 million units worth over INR 30 billion. Those joined the 200+ million Redmi Note phones sold globally since the family was first introduced.

The Redmi Note series is a big deal around the world and it has proven particularly popular in India – if it was an independent brand, it would be #3 or #4 smartphone brand in the Indian market, according to Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India.

Huawei’s HarmonyOS already has 134,000 apps, over 4 million developers have signed on

Eligible devices that migrate to HarmonyOS 2.0 will retain apps and data (the exception being apps that rely on Google Play Services). With backwards compatibility covered, Huawei is looking forward to the future when HarmonyOS will run its own apps instead ones designed for Android.

Huawei announced that over 4 million developers have signed on to build on the Harmony platform and that there are already 134,000 apps using HMS Core. HMS Core itself keeps evolving and yesterday’s event saw the launch of version 6.0 with extended support for Huawei’s cloud services.

Xiaomi’s 200W charging degrades 20% of battery capacity in 800 cycles

Xiaomi did a Q&A about its recently showcased 200W charging technology and was asked whether the hyper charging is safe for the battery.

Xiaomi’s answer details in a number of slides how it manages to dissipate heat during 200W charging and what kind of impact you can expect from the super quick top up. According to their estimates the battery should lose little under 20% of its capacity after 800 cycles, which is over two years if you do a full charge every day. If you go longer between charges it can stretch even more.

Samsung Galaxy A30s gets Android 11 update

Samsung’s Galaxy A30s is the latest device to get Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top. The latest firmware bears the A307FNXXU2CUF2 build number and also brings the May security patch. Users in Russia have already reported the update is popping up on their devices.

The new update brings familiar features to the A30s like one-time permissions, chat bubbles, overhauled media controls alongside improved Digital Wellbeing and Dynamic Lockscreen options. The new update is expected to arrive to more regions in the coming weeks.

Nokia C20 Plus announced with Android Go, 6.5″ screen, and 4,950 mAh battery

HMD Global introduced the Nokia C20 in April, and today the company follows it up with the Plus variant.

Like the vanilla C20, the Nokia C20 Plus runs Android 11 (Go Edition) and has a Unisoc SC9863A SoC at the helm. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and you also get a microSD card slot, allowing storage expansion by up to 256GB.

The Nokia C20 Plus comes in a one-piece polycarbonate shell with a 3D corrugated design, which the company says makes it strong and sturdy.
