Android 12 will prevent screenshots being automatically uploaded on Google Photos

Google Photos users with Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo smartphones have been struggling with a niggling issue since forever – their phones have been backing up their screenshots along with their camera shots with no option to switch it off. Samsung forecasts 7 million foldable shipments for this year

Samsung is at the forefront of the foldable market thanks to its Z Fold and Z Flip lines. A new report from South Korean news outlet The Elec suggests Samsung is aiming to ship between 6 and 7 million units of its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.

The report specifies that the Z Fold3 alone is expected to sell in the 3 million unit range while the Z Flip3 is expected to rack in an additional 4 million shipments. Both phones are expected to launch in July which would leave roughly 5 months for them to reach the aforementioned milestones.

Counterpoint: iPhone 12 series leads Q1 sales in terms of volume and revenue

The iPhone 12 was the best-selling phone in Q1 by number of units sold, the iPhone 12 Pro Max came in second. However, looking at the revenue they generated the two Apple devices switch places. This comes from the latest report by Counterpoint Research, which notes that this Q1 was a record-setting quarter with over $100 billion in revenue generated by smartphones.

iQOO Neo5 Life appears on Geekbench ahead of announcement

There’s a new iQOO Neo5 Life scheduled to be announced on May 24 and now the device has appeared in a Geekbench listing ahead of next week’s big reveal.

The benchmark listing confirms the V2118A model number and also shows us the Snapdragon 870 will once again sit at the helm just like on the regular iQOO Neo 5. The unit in the test boasts 8GB RAM and managed a 1,021-point single-core performance and 3,427 points on the multi-core test. The device boots Android 11 presumably with OriginOS for iQOO.
