Honor Play5 unveiled with Dimensity 800U and 66W charging

Right on schedule Honor unveiled its latest midrange phone in China called Play 5. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chipset and supports speedy 66W wired charging. The rest of the key specs include a 6.53-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 16MP selfie cam housed in the water drop notch.

There are four cameras around the back with a 64MP primary shooter and 8MP ultrawide cam. The remaining two modules are both 2MP and are used for macro shots and depth data. You can get the Play5 with either 128GB or 256G storage, in either case RAM is 8GB.

None of Apple’s AirPods or HomePods support lossless audio

Yesterday Apple Music announced that it will enable lossless audio streaming for all of its subscribers at no extra cost starting in June. But as it turns out, Apple doesn’t actually sell headphones or speakers that can play that lossless audio.

First off, Apple’s wireless headphones only support the lossy AAC codec (which is also used by Apple Music), so the AirPods and AirPods Pro are out. The AirPods Max do have the option of plugging in with a cable using a 3.5mm adapter, but that doesn’t work either.

Oppo is expected to announce the Reno6 series on May 22, but while we thought we’d only get three phones, now it looks like there will be at least four.
