OnePlus Watch review

OnePlus Watch review

After years spent in the rumor mills, the OnePlus Watch is finally here and on our hands. With the company slowly diverging into other markets, it was only a matter of time before we got a smartwatch from OnePlus. In fact, it’s slightly weird that we got a OnePlus TV before a OnePlus Watch.

But the OnePlus Watch almost didn’t exist. The original smartwatch project was canceled sometime in 2015-2016, with Carl Pei then revealing early design sketches of a watch that will never exist in a since-deleted tweet. But since then, the company seems to have changed its stance on wearables. Last…

Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 is official with QRNG chip and 5G

Samsung just announced the Galaxy Quantum2, successor to last year’s Galaxy A Quantum. Once again this is a Korea-exclusive phone, with a new QRNG security chipset.

The Galaxy Quantum2, which is expected to eventually ship globally as the Galaxy A82 (and sans the QRNG chip), has a 6.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 855+ chipset mated to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W charging support (and a 15W charger in the box).

Apple’s next event is taking place on April 20, Siri reveals

In a strange turn of events, Apple’s own digital assistant Siri has revealed the date of the company’s next product launch date which is set for a week from now on April 20. It seems that getting the details requires you to open up Siri on your iPhone, iPad or Macbook with a US-based Apple ID and ask when the next Apple event is taking place. Siri then responds with April 20 at Apple Park in Cupertino.

Xiaomi Mi 11 starts receiving MIUI 12.5

Xiaomi’s newly released Mi 11 is getting the latest version of the company’s MIUI – 12.5 – a bit earlier than anticipated. The software update isn’t huge but it brings a couple of new features and squashes some bugs along the way.

The reports are coming from Chinese owners of the handset, so the global version of the software will probably take another few weeks to arrive.

The update weighs 461MB and is said to deliver a “Android gesture Turbo” functionality, improve the chipset’s performance and probably the most notable thing about this patch is that it fixes the random restarts…

5G availability has been steadily increasing throughout Europe though at varying speeds. Oppo has now teamed up with Vodafone, Qualcomm and Ericsson to bring the first commercial 5G SA (Standalone Architecture) network in Germany which will be available to Find X3 Pro users after a software update.

Users in Dusseldorf, Munster, and Leipzig will be the first Europeans to benefit from 5G SA coverage. 5G SA brings much lower latency at 1ms compared to 5G NSA (Non-standalone) at around 20ms. The standalone mode only relies on 5G cell towers for signaling and information instead of using…
